Silvertip reef shark
Size – 300 cm max (10 ft)
Distribution – Western Indian Ocean & the Pacific Ocean
Diet – octopus, benthic & pelagic bony fish, sharks
Threats & Predators –humans (longline fishing, tuna gillnet fishing, shark fin soup)
Cool Fact – Silvertip reef sharks are viviparous which means that the shark pups grow in an embryo inside the mother who then gives live birth. The mother can have up to 11 offspring about 50-60 cm long.
